Boise Contemporary Theater: Questions My Mother Can't Answer by Andrea Caban
The 11|12 Season will be capped off by the second add-on production. New York Innovative Theatre Award-winning writer/performer Andrea Caban is back with her sold-out 2010 FringeNYC hit. Much of the play was written in Boise during BCT’s production of THE PAVILION in which Andrea starred as the all-knowing, all-powerful narrator. In QUESTIONS MY MOTHER CAN’T ANSWER Andrea returns to mortality and herself on a mind-body-soul healing mission after being hit by a New York City cab. She interviews eight “women-of-a-certain-age” including a sexy Moroccan ballroom dancer, a donations-only prostitute, and her Aunt Shirley. Hoping to redefine “navigating life” and to interpret the ticks of her biological clock, Andrea looks to these women for guidance and finds inspiration, laughter and hope.

LISTEN training session
The Boise City Department of Arts & History (A&H), with support from the Boise Officemax Community Fund, presents LISTEN - a free oral history training program for children and teens from age 9 to 18 years. The goal of the LISTEN program is to build a stronger community by connecting our youth with older generations and to help foster appreciation for their contributions and experiences. LISTEN training sessions will be held once a month at various community centers, library branches, and other public venues on the first Saturday of the month* from February to October 2012. Sessions last two hours and will provide basic training for children and teens to conduct interviews with family members and seniors in their community. Thanks to the support from Officemax Boise Community Fund, A&H is also able to offer digital oral history recording and transcription equipment that community members can check out at no cost. Space is limited, so please pre-register for the program. Children between ages 9 and 12 should have a parent or adult guardian attend the program with them. Please contact Amy Fackler with questions or to register (433-5675 / afackler@cityofboise.org) *with one extra session on September 22, 2012

Idaho Shakespeare Festival: Romeo and Juliet
The greatest love story ever told, Shakespeare’s powerfully poetic and tragic tale of love and loss will steal your heart and leave you breathless. Transcending the hate of warring factions, in defiance of their parents and in secrecy from their closest friends, two young, star-crossed lovers risk all to be together. However, the same passion that stirs the lovers’ hearts also fuels the wrath of their feuding families and exacts heart-rending results.
