Terri
Schorzman is the Director of the Department
of Arts & History. She has spent the majority of her career
creating and managing program activities for cultural
organizations, including as a program manager at the Smithsonian
Institution where she was responsible for all operations and
activities of an international research program in the history of
science and technology. She has also led the communications effort
for a regional planning agency, where she was responsible for
public information, education, media relations, and public
involvement, and worked in public programming and development for a
local science museum. As a volunteer, she is the current state
Advisor to the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and held
leadership positions in statewide and regional non-profit
preservation and history organizations. She is also a former
commissioner for the (former) Boise City Arts Commission, where she
served on the executive committee for several years. She holds a
Masters of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa
Barbara in American History and a Bachelor of Arts degree from
Colorado State University in American History and Social Studies
Education.
Amy Fackler, Cultural
Programs Manager, manages the Performing Arts and Cultural
Celebration Community (PACC) Grant program, Professional
Development Workshops, RE-ART children's collaboration art program,
the Cultural Resource Guide, and
other special projects. Amy's related professional experience
includes working and volunteering at the Idaho State Historical
Society, Boise Art Museum, City Arts Celebration committee, Wasco
County Historical Museum, and Horner Museum (Oregon State
University). Amy completed a Master's degree in Museum Studies at
Oregon State University; she also earned a Bachelor's Degree in
English and Anthropology (double-major) from the University of
Washington.
A Boise native, Karen
Bubb is Public Arts Manager for the Boise
City Department of Arts & History. She consults and provides
workshops statewide for municipalities and arts organizations
regarding public art, creativity and cultural policy. In 2008 she
completed her Masters in Public Administration and Graduate
Certificate for Regional and Community Planning at Boise State
University. Bubb is also an active visual artist who graduated from
University of Oregon in 1990 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree.
She works in many mediums including stained glass, encaustic
painting, printmaking and collage. She shows her artworks at the
Linen Market every third Sunday of the month at the Linen Building
on Grove and 14th in downtown Boise.
Josh Olson is the Public Art Education and Conservation Specialist for the City of Boise. While in this position he provides services such as guided public art and cultural tours, web site and promotional development materials, and classroom resources. Josh also keeps busy preserving Boise's public art collection through regular assessment, maintenance and conservation efforts. By managing both of these large programs the cultural significance and the aesthetics of this three million dollar city treasure are sustained. Josh earned his B.A. in Fine Arts from Western State College in Colorado in 1994, and is currently a member of the National Association of Interpretation.
Brandi Burns has an Honors Bachelor's of Arts in History from Idaho State University. She is currently enrolled at Boise State University, pursuing her Masters. As the City Historian she enjoys answering historical inquiries, conducting research, and collecting oral histories. She grew up in Centerville, Idaho, where the gold mines of Idaho fostered her love for history.
